The Broad Museum

The Broad is an innovative contemporary art museum in Downtown Los Angeles. The museum is named after philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, who financed the construction that houses the renowned Broad art collection. Visitors can get a glimpse of the history of the Broad’s collection by wandering through the vast museum. The collection was created over a century ago by the artist Eli Broad, who is best known for his modern art. The museum provides free general admission for its entire collection.

The Broad has a permanent exhibition of abstract art and installations by artists such as Kenneth Noland. There are also a few gallery exhibitions that take place on selected dates during the year. The exhibits feature works from different genres, including paintings, sculptures, and photographic pieces.

The museum was built in 1931 and is one of the few museums in Los Angeles to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The structure is made out of concrete, and the interior walls and roof are painted a rich array of colors to make the atmosphere both tranquil and dramatic.

Architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed the structure, and the form is a combination of Victorian and Gothic Revival styles. The building features an atrium that stretches from the ground floor to a height of fifty feet. A spiral staircase leads visitors to the Second Floor Gallery, where they can view the extensive collection. The Lower Gallery features an exhibit dedicated to the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. The Natural History Gallery contains dinosaur and bird displays, while the Science and Environmental Gallery houses a variety of presentations.

One of the most popular sections of the Broad Museum is the William Heath exhibit. Here you will see original prints and paintings by renowned British artist William Heath. This section is housed in the renovated studios of the photographer. The exhibition includes several autographed art prints from famous artists. Other notable attractions include The Crystal Temples, The Science and Environmental Gallery, The Middle East: Landscape from the Ground Up, and the Angels with Dirty Faces exhibit.

The Museum of Contemporary Art is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Los Angeles. The permanent gallery exhibits modern art and contemporary design work from different countries. The permanent gallery is home to one of the most important exhibitions of contemporary art in the world. This section features both solo and group exhibits. This museum also hosts various workshops and events, including book launches, art walks, and cultural events.
